Happy Valentines Day!

Today is your second Valentines Day. To tell you the truth, I don't remember last Valentines Day very well. You were only two months old! I think we stayed home and I made Swedish pancakes!

You look very different this Valentines Day!

You have grown quite a bit!

Leaning on the window, you look so grown up!

 Yelling at the birds outside!

You are growing up so fast!

You are such a sweet boy.

Love, in it's deepest form, can't even describe the way I feel about you!

Mommy and Daddy love you so so so so so so much!!

You make us smile!

You are so funny and sweet!

You melt my heart!

You have made us complete!

14 Months Old!!

You turned 14 months old this week. It's amazing to me that you are still growing and changing everyday.

Right now:

You have 12 teeth and are working hard on those incisors! We brush your teeth every night and you love it!

You wear size 12 months-2T clothes. Quite the span. You need the length of the bigger sizes but they just fall off of your waist!

You love birds and dogs well, really, everything in nature. You also love people!

You are attempting to eat with a spoon and fork independently.

You know what sound Monkeys, Elephants, Lions, Cow, Sheep and Dogs make.

You know where your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, knee, toes and tummy are.

You love to read books. You read them on your own and you love to have them read to you!

In this picture you were running toward me and saying 'Ma-ma'. You have started saying my name when you want me or when you are talking about me. It makes my heart melt every time!

You are mischievous. You push the rules. I'll tell you not to do something and you will look at me and do it. Or half do it, to see if that is ok! You are too funny. I love that you don't always listen. It makes you normal. It makes life fun for me. I have to try to not laugh at all the funny stuff you do and discipline you. This parenting stuff is no joke! It takes time and effort. We sat on the couch the other day for 15 min. because you refused to say, sorry, after you hit me. Some may think that harsh. But I know you can say sorry. You know you shouldn't hit. Hitting isn't nice at all and I wanted to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. You sat and cried, tried to distract us and eventually looked at me and said sorry. I'll give it to you, you are persistent but, Mommy is going to win. I have to, other wise you will think it's ok to hit, or you can just cry to get out of punishment and consequence. Thats not how the world works. We love you and promise to teach you how to be the best you can be. To love and respect people. "We love because He first loved us!"

You are trying so hard to talk and communicate with us. You do a very good job. You babble these long stories! It's really cute!

You are learning to say please and thank you. You don't say them independently but I know you will get there.

Sometimes I think you have deep thoughts. I just look in your eyes and know that you know more than you can communicate.

You follow verbal instructions very well. You understand our conversations and throw your own thoughts in! We have begun to really be careful with what we say around you, you repeat everything!

This picture warms my heart. Daddy asked you, "where's mama?". You turned, pointed, smiled really big and said 'mama'!

Your daddy said that boys have a deep connection to their mom, he said that he is kind of jealous that we will always have that bond. I know that you love your daddy. Even if you do reach for him as often as me, you still talk about him all the time when he's at work. You point to pictures of mommy and daddy and say, 'dada!'. You love us both and you are beginning to show it. We love you more than words can even come close to describing. We love you with our lives. We do things just to make your life better! You are our world little man! You are the best I could have even hoped for.

Happy 14 Months love bug!

Sweet and Sour

Sweet:
Yesterday was your daddy's birthday! Grandma, Grandpa, Nana, Papa, Uncle Matt, Uncle Alex, Uncle Chris and Aunt Desiree all came with us to Chevy's to celebrate. You got so excited when you saw uncle Alex, you started clapping! You love when all of your family is together! You just soak up all of the attention!

Sour:
Today you hit me for the first time. I was holding you and you wanted to get down. Instead of using your words you smacked me in the side of the head. We had a little chat and you apologized. Its hard to teach you that something hurts when you hardly feel pain. I think you understand that you shouldn't hit, but you like to test those boundaries! There is no denying you are our child. It is exhausting disciplining and teaching you and I get so sick of hearing my own voice! I try to use other words than just lots of 'NO!' but it's really hard to spit out sentences when you are about to pull a lamp on your head! Just so you know, you have never pulled a lamp on to your head, you almost did. Luckily you listened to me and I pulled you out of the way! Even in your sour moments there are still glimmers of sweetness. You do listen very well. Each day there is something new. I love this adventure! It really is all in the way you look at it and the things you choose to make a big deal!

You are truly a delight!

Love, Mommy/ loves you sweet or sour!

Little Parrot

You repeat everything we say! The other day we had dinner with grandma, grandpa and Mr and Mrs. Toland (daddy and I have decided that you should refer to adults as Mr. or Mrs. but with Chris and Desiree you can call them aunt and uncle). Anyway, we were done with dinner and you were walking around. Grandma cautioned you and said, "you would go, boom baby!" and you repeated "boom baby" and you threw your hand down! We all looked at each other and started laughing! Sometimes it amazes me what you can say! When you don't think about it, you aren't asked or made to say anything, you say big words. You have even repeated, avocado! My favorite word you say is, frisbee, you say, "biz-bee". It's the cutest thing I have ever heard! You love to point to things abs name them, you are so proud. I love teaching you the names of things, you repeat what I say and then it's in your head. Amazing!

Love,
Mommy/ proud of her little parrot
